Triangle Tomorrow, working closely with RTRP and its leaders, will provide leadership needed to identify, understand and monitor long-term challenges to the region’s livability through advocacy, communications, education, leadership development and organizational partnerships and collaboration.  Triangle Tomorrow builds its work plan around three project areas: one current and active project (air quality), one project in development at the direction of the Agenda Committee (educational leadership) and one project in research for development. This third project area will allow for the organization to remain fluid and flexible to address topics that may change due to unforeseen regional challenges. The work plan also centers on outreach to both members and the public to build on capacity and name recognition.

IMPROVE AIR QUALITY IN THE RESEARCH TRIANGLE REGION

Tactical Objectives:

• Maintain Triangle Air Awareness Program at its current level of activity, including education and outreach programming
• January 2007 - Secure co-chairs for the TRAQC
• June 2007 – assess success of TRAQC and commit TT to manage for 2007-08

Strategic Goal

IMPROVE EDUCATION IN THE RESEARCH TRIANGLE REGION

Tactical Objective:

• Conduct research and fact finding on existing initiatives.
• Identify and recruit organizational partners for project.
• Work with UNC to identify leadership models.
• September 2006 - Meet with Regional Advisory Council to secure commitment to success of program.
• Host membership meeting to present project strategies and goals, receive input, secure commitment.
• Develop timeline to implement goals for project.

Strategic Goal:

ENSURE BUSINESS COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION ON DECISIONS OF REGIONAL GROWTH.

Tactical Objective:

• Maintain discussion with core group about updating the Development Choices project.
• Continue discussion with the Urban Land Institute Triangle District Council on a partnership on the ULI’s Reality Check project. Target presentation date 2008.

OUTREACH TO TRIANGLE TOMORROW MEMBERSHIP

Tactical Objective:

• Host one annual meeting for members and guest.
• Host one social event for updates and member recruitment.
• Involve members in specific project tasks by serving on task forces, etc.
• Partner closely with RTRP on State of the Region Event to include TT project focus indicators/information.
• E-newsletter to membership quarterly.
• Special recognition for gold and silver members on website.

Strategic Goal:

EXPAND CAPACITY AND RAISE THE ORGANIZATIONAL OUTREACH OF TRIANGLE TOMORROW

Funding:

• Establish a membership committee responsible to target new members, assign solicitors, timeline for growth.
• Get commitment of some silver members ($2500) to increase their annual dues to gold level ($5000).
• Get commitment of some bronze members ($1500) to increase their annual dues to silver level ($2500) or higher.
• Build relationships with foundations and explore grant opportunities.
• 2006-07 membership financial base increase by at least 10%
• 2007-08 membership financial base increase by at least 10%

Membership outreach:
