Urban Land Institute

The Urban Land Institute, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members. Founded in 1936, the institute
now has more than 40,000 members worldwide representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines, working in private enterprise and public service.

The mission of the Urban Land Institute is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.

As the preeminent, multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates the open exchange of ideas, information and experience among local, national and international industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places. The Reality Check exercise and planning methodology is a program of the Urban Land Institute.

ULI Triangle

ULI Triangle is a District Council of the Urban Land Institute that has grown to approximately 600 members in the last three years throughout the Triangle region.

The District Council serves to further ULI’s mission by convening leaders, advocating best practices, providing education to the community and creating forums to exchange ideas and develop solutions.

Events include quarterly forums on topics ranging from regional and sustainability issues to an economic forecast. In addition, monthly roundtables highlight various project-related lessons for our constituents, as well as public outreach issues ranging from workforce housing and downtown revitalization to a better understanding of public art’s function.

ULI Triangle members are considered leaders within their fields, and represent a variety of disciplines including developers, elected officials, brokers, investors, architects, lawyers, engineers, as well as academia.

Triangle Tomorrow

Triangle Tomorrow is a nonprofit program of the Research Triangle Regional
Partnership that works closely with business and community leaders to improve the
quality of life and economic competitiveness of the 13-county Research Triangle
Region. Triangle Tomorrow focuses on the areas of regional competitiveness, air
quality, quality of life benchmarking, land use and education leadership. The
organization’s collaborative efforts with businesses, industry, nonprofits, civic groups,
colleges, universities and citizens have resulted in meaningful improvements in areas of
environmental sustainability, land use and economic development. Its membership spans
the region and includes representatives from the private sector, universities, community colleges, major Chambers of Commerce, and civic organizations
